On the very day when the specified limit drug driving offence was introduced in March 2015, expert motoring lawyer, Alison Ashworth attended the BBC Manchester studio to give a live radio interview about problems she’d identified with the new offence.

One year on and many of those problems are still in existence today.

We are still without the Magistrates’ Sentencing Guidelines (see article), and issues surrounding the medical defence continue to exist. Following the interview, Greater Manchester Police began robustly enforcing the new drug driving law.
